Hello, my name is Kara Kennedy. I am currently the 3rd/4th grade Special Education Case Manager. I received my Master’s Degree in Special Education and Elementary Education from Wheelock College in 2001. Since 2001, I have taught in MA and NH as well as being a stay at home mom. Eight of my eleven years of teaching have been at ACS.
I grew up in New Jersey. Most of my childhood was spent playing soccer day and night. I had the privilege to have played with many fascinating people and even traveled to many different states and countries to do so. Currently, I live in Alton with my three daughters and two dogs, Moki and Ruger. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends especially at the lake. When at the lake, I enjoy soaking up the sun, paddle boarding or just “hanging out” floating in a tube enjoying the day.
I am excited to start a new school year which I am sure will be full of exciting new experiences for both myself and my students. It is important for me to encourage my students to believe in themselves and take chances to do their best. Building their confidence to take those chances is a process, but well worth it when I get to see the wonderful young adults they become in later years. Besides encouraging my students to take chances, I appreciate their individual learning styles and help them obtain a better understanding of the way they learn best.
As I am getting ready for another fun-filled year with many adventures, I would like to express the importance of communication. Please feel free to send me an email at email@example.com or phone call whenever you have any questions or concerns regarding your child.
